The Council of Obas and local communities in Sokoto State have backed every candidate for the All Progressives Congress in the state ahead of the general elections in 2023.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the endorsement was given
when the leadership of the two organizations met with the state’s APC leader, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North).

The Oba in Council, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Surajudeen Sahabi, visited first, according to a statement released on Monday by Wamakko’s Special Assistant on Media, Bashar Abubakar.

Sahabi assured the lawmakers that they were prepared to collaborate with the APC leadership to ensure the party’s triumph in the general elections to be held in Nigeria in 2023.

“This is especially the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the APC gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, among other candidates of the party,” he said

The Association of Sokoto State Residents Community, led by Alhaji Salmanu Oke, similarly informed Wamakko that they came to express their steadfast support for the APC’s victory in the state.

He continued by saying that the state’s citizens would never forget Wamakko’s priceless kindnesses toward them when he was governor.

Wamakko said, “Nigeria is one indivisible nation,” adding, “therefore, Sokoto is a home to all the tribes regardless of where one hails from.” Wamakko then welcomed the two groups.

The legislator claimed that maintaining Nigeria’s unity as an indivisible country was one of the reasons the APC chose Tinubu as its candidate.
