Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has ordered the immediate sack of workers employed between 2022 till date.
The state governor had earlier in July sacked 7,000 workers of the State Civil Service.
This was made known in a statement made available to the press dated, Thursday, August 31.
According to the statement, the government opined that the disengagement was necessary to “weed out ghost workers and streamline the state public service”.
The statement signed by the State’s Head of Service, Lady Joy I. Maduka assured that
affected workers would be paid their terminal benefits in accordance with the State Civil Service rules.
