Recall that, on Friday, the Kano Court nullified the candidature of Otti in the March 18 governorship election.

The party, however, stated that its attention has been drawn to the news about a purported judgement and has mandated its legal team to study its contents.

Daily Post reported that this was made known by the State Vice Chairman of the PDP, Elder Amah Abraham, in a press release disseminated after the said Kano Court judgement surfaced in public.

Abraham said the suit, from what the party learnt from the ruling, was filed by one Ibrahim Haruna-Ibrahim.

He added that the presiding Judge in the matter “relied on provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act and granted the prayers made by Mr Haruna Ibrahim.”

According to Abraham, Abia PDP is presently challenging the victory of Otti in the Election petition tribunal and is exploring every legal options at the tribunal that would enable it reclaim its stolen mandate.

He said, “Abia PDP wishes to clarify to the good people of Abia State and Nigerians that it did not institute any case against the Abia State Governor-Elect and the Labour Party at Federal High Court in Kano.

“However, as a responsible political party, Abia PDP is aware of the judgement and has mandated its legal team to study the judgement.”

He urged the PDP family and the people of Abia at large to remain calm as the party awaits the judgement of the Election petition tribunal.

”And we are sure that justice would be served at the end of the day,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Alex Otti on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, during a press conference on Friday, berated the PDP and Abia State government for allegedly sponsoring and circulating what he called fake and misleading stories about Otti‘s mandate.
