The Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, the state capital, has scheduled Saturday, October 28, to deliver judgment on a petition filed by Aishatu Dairu Ahmed (Binani) of the All Progressives Congress, seeking to cancel Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory at the March 18 election in the state.

Binani had earlier been declared the winner of the election by the state Residence Electoral Commissioner, Yunusa Hari, in controversial circumstances, which was later countered with the declaration of Fintiri by the Independent National Electoral Commission, and immediate suspension of Hari.

However, some experts have stated that the forthcoming judgment holds immense significance in determining the outcome and addressing any concerns related to the electoral process.

According to the experts, the verdict tends to have far-reaching implications on the political landscape of Adamawa and may also impact the governance structure in the state.

All eyes are on the state as the tribunal prepares to deliver a verdict that could shape the state’s political future.
