A former deputy governor of Imo State and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Jude Agbaso, has come under fire for supporting Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Agbaso had said he would support his party in Imo for the governorship election but would throw his weight behind Obi for the presidential election.

“I will support APC as far as Imo State is concerned but for the presidency, I will support Peter Obi because if he can go out of his way and generate the fervour, the momentum and the favour of the people, he should be encouraged,” he had stated.

Reacting, however, some Nigerians on social media reprimanded the APC chief.

@AdeniyiKolapo6 tweeted, “Imo State APC chieftain giving reasons why he has to vote for Obi. Let him just decamp to Labour Party. If Obi loses which will likely, what’ll be his take in APC? You can’t be in two places at the same time.”

@SpeedyFloater alleged, “All the thieves you all accused in PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) and APC are joining Labour Party and you are cheering right? So, why won’t Labour Party become PDP or APC later in the year? So same politicians. All jokers!”
