The Spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign, Daniel Bwala, has advised the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi to initiate a lawsuit against the Federal Government of Nigeria, over his detention in the United Kingdom.

Bwala, who accused the Nigerian Immigration Service of being actively participated in the detention case, said the biodata used by Obi’s impersonator, passed through the service.

However, he argued that the whole scenario was planned as a movement to damage the reputation of the leader of the Obidient movement.

“One fact is clear, the impersonator was issued the passport by Nigerian Immigration. They have his bio-data and details about him.

“Peter Obi should sue the Nigerian government in court and compel them to smoke the man out and whoever may be using him for the smear campaign.” he tweeted.

It would be recalled that Obi-Datti media office had said on Wednesday, that the former Anambra Governor, was harassed at the Heathrow Airport in London on April 7, when he was accosted by an immigration officer who handed him a detention note and told him to step aside.

The media office explained that he was pulled aside for an alleged duplication offense, signifying that he had an impersonator in the country.

The party noted that Obi was questioned for a long time, noting that the action was strange for a man who lived for over a decade in the UK.

It was learned that the politician was released, following the intervention some Nigerian, who rose save the situation, asked why he was put through such ridicule.

Meanwhile, Bwale also claimed in the early hour of yesterday, that the UK government had reached out to Peter Obi, to apologize for the illegal detention.

However, the Obi’s camp did not waste much time, refuting the claim by Atiku’s side, saying that no apology was received from the UK government, concerning the Obi’s detention.
