The speaker, on Thursday, made this known while attempting questions from the press on the sideline of the ongoing two-day orientation training on oversight roles, organised by Bauchi field office of the USAID-funded State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) programme.

The speaker maintained that the training programme had shown disturbing indices in critical sectors, including healthcare services, basic education, water, sanitation and hygiene and public financial management, according to Daily Post.

He reiterated the need for the involvement of state and non-state actors to mitigate some of the trends enumerated in those critical sectors.

He assured that the House will devise an evidence-based approach to oversight functions to draw the State executive arm’s attention to the needs of the people in the state.
