Benue gov hails Tinubu’s appointment as ECOWAS chair

The Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia on Monday, congratulate President Bola Tinubu on his appointment as the new Chairman of the Authority of Heads of States and Government of Economic Community of West African States.

President Tinubu on Sunday, emerged as the new President of the union, during the 63rd Odinary Session of the union on SuTinubu took over the position from the outgoing ChaimaChairmanident Umaru Embalo of Guinea-Bissau.

In his reaction to the development, Governor Alia stated that the leadership experience acquired by President Tinubu over the years will help address the challenges faced by the West African sub-region.

Alia who disclosed this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Kula Tersoo in Makurdi on Monday, called on Nigerians to pray that God will bless the President with wisdom and strength to discharge his duties as the new ECOWAS chairman.

The statement reads:

“The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has congratulated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his emergence as the chairman of ECOWAS.

“He (Alia) said the choice of Tinubu as ECOWAS Chairman is perfect and timely and the experience of the Nigerian President in leadership will havedirect bearing on the challenges of unity and progress in the West African region.

“Governor Alia calls on Nigerians to pray for President Tinubu so that God will give him strength and wisdom to render effective leadership services to the people he has been chosen to lead.

“Alia described Tinubu as a strong-willed servant leader who lives a life of service, impacting many in his several decades of active politicking and public service.”
