The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, (retd.), on Wednesday stated that Boko Haram was a fraudulent plot to destabilize Nigeria.

Buhari stated this when he hosted members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday.

“Boko Haram was just fraudulent and a plot to destroy Nigeria. You can’t say people should not learn; the people need to grow intellectually,” he said.

In addition to assuring that the economy will receive more attention before to the May 29 handover date, he assured the delegation that the security gains already made would be further strengthened.

In the Northeast, where the emphasis has moved to repairing infrastructure, he claimed that security had gotten better over time.

The people of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, the president claimed, verified the situation has improved since 2015.

The administration would keep repairing the country’s infrastructure in areas hit by terrorist assaults, he assured the bishops.
