The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has returned to his home state, Kastina, ahead of the general elections scheduled for Saturday.

According to Daily Post, Buhari, us expected to proceed to his home town, Daura, where he is expected to cast his vote during the election.

It was reported that the presidential jet arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua Airport, Katsina at exactly 4:40 pm, on Thursday.

Buhari, who was elected president in 2015, after defeating former president Goodluck Jonathan, would be expected to handover to the winner of the 2023 presidential election on May 29, 2023.

The 2023 presidential election would be contested by the Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress; Peter Obi of the Labour Party; Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party; Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party; Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress among several others.
