Buhari, Lawan in closed-door meeting at Aso Rock

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has met behind closed doors with the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting happened a day after the Senate turned down the President’s request to restructure the N22.7tn Ways and Means advances that the Federal Government got from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Lawan, who arrived at the State House just before 3 p.m., is likely to discuss Buhari’s loan request as well as other ancillary problems pertaining to the 2023 appropriate bill.
