Embattled former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice, has been found guilty of organ trafficking in the United Kingdom.
According to Channels, after a six-week trial at the Old Bailey, the couple, and a medical practitioner, Dr. Obinna Obeta, were convicted guilty of aiding the migration of a young man to Britain with the intent of exploiting him.
However, their daughter, Sonia, was cleared by the court.
The jury determined on Thursday that they criminally plotted to bring the 21-year-old Lagos street trader to London in order to exploit him for his kidney.
The presiding judge, Justice Jeremy Johnson, is expected to pass a sentence at a later date.
