A two-term former Oyo State lawmaker, Olusegun Olaleye, popularly know as Radical brother, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, for his former party, the All Progressives Congress.

Olaleye made this announcement in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.

Radical Brother represented Ibadan North state constituency 2 between 2011 and 2019 on the platform of the then Action Congress of Nigeria, turn-APC, and was contesting the PDP house of representatives’ ticket in Ibadan North federal constituency for the 2023 election.

Olaleye said his decision to leave the PDP for APC was borne out of his conviction to support the presidential aspirant of the APC, Bola Tinubu, as well as other candidates of the party.

His statement read, “I, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye, popularly known as Radical Brother, a two-term former member of Oyo state house of assembly and former federal house of representatives aspirant hereby resign from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with immediate effect.

“This decision is borne out of my conviction to support the presidential aspiration of Sen. Bola Tinubu under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and this informed the major reason I decided to be on the same party platform with him and return home to my former party.

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu gave all for our success at the poll in Oyo State under the banner of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2011 and I was part of that government as honourable member from Ibadan North Constituency 2.

“It is of course a payback time for our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and we will do all within our power to mobilize for his victory at the presidential polls and that of every candidate of APC, including Sen. Teslim Folarin, at every level in Oyo state.

“To my people in PDP family, I wish everyone of you well, and to Engineer Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe, I will miss not being in the same party platform with you. However, our friendship and relationship remains.

“Bearing in mind the new development, the noble journey to re-build the broken wall of Jericho of APC in Oyo state has begun and with God on our side, we will prove ourselves and get there.”
