Former Kano First Lady Ladi Bako dies at 93

Ladi Bako, the wife of the first governor of Kano State, Audu Bako, has reportedly died at the age of 93.

Her demise was announced by her daughter Zainab Bako, who stated that Bako died on Wednesday at Prime Specialist Hospital in Kano after a long illness.

Ladi Bako was the wife of the late Audu Bako, who ruled as the military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.

Bako initiated numerous reforms and built institutions across the state, during his tenure.

However, Ladi Bako was a supportive partner and contributed to the development of Kano State, during her husband’s tenure.

Born in Kano, in 1930. Ladi Bako got married to Audu Bako in 1950 and they had six children together.

Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Bako was known for her philanthropy and contributions to society.

She was known as a strong advocate for women’s rights and worked to improve the lives of people in Kano State.

Her funeral rites will take place at the Emir’s Palace in Kofar Kudu, Kano.

However, the news of her passing has been a rude shock to the entire family and people of Kano and condolences have been coming from people across the state.

Many have taken to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to her life and the legacy, she left behind.

Ladi Bako’s death marks the end of an era in Kano State and its environs.

She was known as a symbol of strength, strength, and devotion to the betterment of her community.

Her contributions to societal growth and development will be remembered for years to come.
