Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinma, and former Governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha, were at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday to see President Bola Tinubu.
Uzodinma and Okorocha, who have been political adversaries in recent years, were sighted arriving at the Villa around 6:07 p.m. with the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje.
However, the News Agency of Nigeria reported that, in less than five minutes, the trio came out in the company of the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It was gathered that the President had already left the office before their arrival.
The trio, Ganduje, Uzodinma, and Okorocha, also went to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s office.
A presidential source said Ganduje may take Uzodimma, who is the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, his estranged party man Okorocha, and Governor Sanwo-Olu to the President’s residence.
Although the agenda of the meeting was not made public at the time of filing this report, it may not be unconnected with the face-off between Uzodimma and Okorocha, who was Imo Governor between 2011 and 2019.
The Committee set up by the Imo State Government on the Recovery of Public Property recently indicted Okorocha and some of his political allies.
It may also be connected to the coming governorship election set to take place in the state in November.
