Governor Peter Mbah Enugu state, has hosted the top scorer of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Ernest Ifeanyichukwu Ofoama and his parents, in the government house.

Mbah in a post on his X handle on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, revealed that he played host to the UTME candidate in his office on Monday, August 21, 2023.

He further explained that Ofoama was among the 36 top scorers of the UTME, who have been awarded scholarships to study in Nigeria, by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The governor revealed that Mrs Tinubu awarded the scholarship to the top scorers of the examination which was conducted by the Joint Admission and Examination Board, across the 36 States, in the country.

The candidates in each of the states were being given scholarships through the ‘Renewed Hope initiative’ of the wife of the President.

According to Mbah, the JAMB UTME candidates will receive their scholarship prizes on Saturday, August 26, at the presidential villa in Abuja.

He however expressed the readiness of his administration, to give any further assistance to Ofoama, to further his education in the medical profession. .

Receiving the JAMB student and his parents, Mr Oliver and Mrs Loveth Ofoama at the government house, the governor expressed his joy and satisfaction with the candidate, congratulating him for his brilliant performance.

“Congratulating him on this academic success makes my heart happy. We are pleased with Ofoama because he has inspired other pupils and served as a role model,” Mbah wrote.
