Gov poll : Kano imposes dusk-to-dawn curfew over rising tension

Following the tension generated amid the collation of results of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kano state, a dusk-to-dawn curfew has been imposed by the state government.

According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, through a press statement on Monday.

According to him, the move became necessary in order to militate against the possibility of a crisis breaking out in the State.

Also, the commissioner called on people in the state to “remain indoors as security agents would not spare anyone or group bent on causing trouble.”
