The Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct free, fair and credible governorship and state House of Assembly elections with efficient use of the BVAS machines.

The major opposition party in the state made the charge on Thursday during a peaceful protest to the INEC office in Ilorin, the state capital.

It explaned that the use of the BVAS would erase the feelings of manipulation and ensure transparency and accountability.

The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Alh Abdullahi Yaman, while speaking with journalists, charged INEC to make the election free of compromise.

He said, “We have come here for INEC to give us assurance that what happened in the last election is not repeated because we have to defend our votes. We cannot allow INEC to compromise on this.”

Commenting on the protest, the PDP youth leader in the Kwara Central senatorial district, Comrade AbdulHamid Adangba, disclose that the peaceful protest was carried out purposely to show INEC they were not pleased with the conduct of the February 25th presidential and National Assembly elections.
