The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded governorship election in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin, has congratulated the incumbent Governor of the State and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Makinde, on his emergence as the winner of the 2023 Oyo governorship election.

Senator Folarin, who congratulated the winner through his Twitter handle, this afternoon, said it is only God, who gives and takes power.

“I Congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde,” M.r Teslim tweeted. “All Glories and Adorations are due to Almighty God for His Grace and for preserving our lives throughout the 2023 electioneering process.”

“It is God that Gives Power and Takes Power! May Oyo State and our people continue to prosper.

“In conclusion, in line with the official pronouncement of the Independent National Electoral Commission, hereby congratulate Engr. @seyiamakinde,” he tweeted.

The former national assembly member, who came a distant second in the election, managed to win two out of the 33 local governments in the state with 256,685 votes, lost to Engr. Seyi Makinde, who polled a score of votes to 563,756 votes, also won 31 of the 33 local government areas in the State.

Engr. Makinde, who will begin his second tenure in office on May 29, came into power in 2019, after defeating Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress, who was placed to take over from the late Abiola Ajumobi.
