The Deputy governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onaja has been cleared by the All Progressives Congress, to contest for the forthcoming party’s governorship primary election, holding in the state on the 10th of April, 2023.

Announcing this through his Tweeter handle today, the deputy governor thanked God for the victory, and also showed appreciation to his boss, Yahaya Bello, who is the governor of the state.

Born in August 1974, Onoja is a Nigerian politician, who has served as the Chief of staff to the Kogi State Governor, before assuming office as the deputy governor of Kogi State in October 2019.

He hails from Odidoko-Emonyoku in Ogugu District of Olamaboro Local
Government Area of Kogi State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, has fixed November 11, 2023, as the governorship Election Day, in the state, whereby whoever wins the party’s ticket at primary, will battle with all other contestants from the opposition parties, to take over the number on seat of the state, from governor Yahaya Adosa Bello, whose second tenure in the office will end by January 24th, 2024.

However, the deputy governor showed appreciation for being cleared to contest the primary election for the number one seat in Kogi State.

“Thank you Lord for this. Thank you for the victories ahead, 🙏 🙏.

“Thank you boss, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for this opportunity. Thank you Kogi APC🙏,” he tweeted.
