Gov Radda unveils new buses for Katsina transport authority

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, on Thursday, unveiled another set of buses for the Katsina State Transport Authority, as part of his efforts to improve the transportation system in the state.

In a statement issued after the event, the governor said the new buses were a significant step towards alleviating the transportation challenges faced by travellers within the state, which include high traffic, bad condition of some roads, overloading, and occurrence of accidents.

He said the initiative fulfilled a commitment he made to the people of Katsina, aimed at offering affordable transportation services for both passengers and the efficient movement of goods.

He also directed the management of the KSTA to procure at least one bus every month from the revenue they are generating for effective service delivery.

The KSTA is a state-owned transport company that operates on various routes within and outside the state, providing public transport services to commuters and cargo transport services to traders.

The governor said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to providing affordable, convenient, and reliable means of transportation to the citizens of Katsina State.

He urged the KSTA to ensure proper maintenance of the buses and to adhere to the safety rules and regulations on the roads.

He also appealed to the public to patronize the KSTA and to support the government in its efforts to develop the state.

The governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Musa Adamu, and other top government officials at the unveiling ceremony.

The statement read, “I am pleased to have unveiled another set of buses to Katsina State Transport Authority, which is a significant step towards alleviating transportation challenges faced by travellers within our dear state.
