The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority has issued traffic advisory to the motoring public particularly those intending to ply the Molete-Oja’aba-Beere route between the hours of 8am-4pm on Thursday.
This development is as a result of a letter received from the People’s Democratic Party, Oyo State dated 3rd January, 2022, conveying the intention of the party to host five State Governors as part of activities to launch the re-election campaign of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, FNSE, at the ancient Mapo hall, Ibadan.
The advisory read, “To this end, the motoring public are to note that there will be a road blockade at Beere junction inward Mapo Hall from 0800hours till 1600hours of 5th January, 2022. Similarly, there will be road blockade at Born-Photo as well as Idi-Arere inward Mapo Hall at the same time.
“While our men and officers in conjunction with other security agencies has been sufficiently deployed to maintain law and order along the axis, road users and commuters who have nothing to do with the rally are advised to ply alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays that may ensue as a result of high volume of traffic expected at the venue.
“Participants at the event had been enjoined to obey traffic officials as anyone found wonton would be made to face the full wrath of the extant traffic laws of the State.”
