The stage where the governor-elect of Kano State, Abba Kabir was getting inaugurated as Kano State Governor collapsed on Monday.
The incident took place immediately after he was sworn-in as governor.
The Governor, his Deputy and the acting Chief Judge were all on the stage when the incident happened at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, the venue of the inauguration.
The stage collapsed after some supporters of the governor climbed the rooftop of the stage.
However, the governor and his deputy were confirmed to be safe.
Abba Kabir, a member of the New Nigeria People’s Party becomes the first and the only NNPP governor in the North-West.
Kabir, takes over from Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress.
The collapse generated reactions on social media.
