The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial district at the national assembly, Adams Oshiomhole, has stated that it would have been a threat to his health if he had lost the bid to represent his constituency at the national assembly.

The former Edo State Governor stated this during the post-inauguration/thank you party hosted in his honour, by friends and well-wishers at his country home, Iyamho, Etsako, Edo, on Saturday, July 1, 2023, said his blood pressure would have been 240/0360 if he was been voted against during the last election. Mo

“If you have voted against me, I don’t know, my blood pressure will now be 240/0360, that is if I’m still alive.

“Because the jubilation by the opponent would have been such that they will come and knock on my small door and break my small bones, but you said no,” he said.

According to him, many governors lost their bids to become senators, but it would have been a shame if he also lost.

However, he expressed appreciation for the people of Edo North, for voting for him and President Bola Tinubu, noting that it is the only area Tinubu won in Edo State.

He however promised to represent them well and also pledged that he will make sure they benefit immensely from Tinubu’s administration.

“There were sitting governors who contested for senate across the country and many of them lost.

I left office seven years ago and my people still honoured me with victory, how can I thank you enough?

“Afeanmi people, when you go back to your wards and units, tell your people that I am very grateful.

“During the campaign, I told you if you wanted to give me one vote, give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I am very proud to say and to repeat today here and now, that in each of these six Local Government Areas, every ward Bola Ahmed Tinubu won, every ward Adams Oshiomhole won,” he stated.

“I will proudly carry the result and I will say, Mr President, this is my certificate of the people of Edo North that voted for you.

He said Tinubu will transform Nigeria the way he did Lagos, noting that Tinubu had said that those who said Edo is not Lagos will be alive when he becomes President, and he not only make Edo like Lagos but also make it better than Lagos.

“So my people, those who say Edo no be Lagos, Tinubu cannot control us, please tell them Tinubu is now Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces,” Oshiomhole stated.
