A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has attacked the son of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu, for holding an elaborate wedding ceremony despite his parent’s predicaments in UK prison.

Igbokwe disclosed while reacting to the wedding ceremony of the son of the convicted Senator on Saturday.

Premium Politics reported that Lloyd on Saturday, August 19, 2023, tied the knot with his lover, Tiffany Adaobi Obinna-Uzor, in Abuja.

The wedding ceremony, which took place at the Basilica of Grace, Anglican Communion, Gudu District Abuja.

However, among the many important dignitaries who attended the wedding ceremony was the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, former Senate President, Bukola Sakari, and other top politicians.

It would be recalled that Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice and one Doctor Obinna Obeta, had on the 23rd of June 2022, charged with conspiracy, arranging the travel of a 21-year-old boy, David Ukpo, from Lagos into the UK, to allegedly harvest his organs.

The former Deputy Senate President, along with his wife and the Doctor, were however, on the 23rd of March, 2023, convicted of conspiring to exploit the boy for his kidney.

Igbokwe in his reaction to Ekweremadu’s son’s wedding ceremony, in a post on his Facebook page, said the event would have been held on low-key, considering the predicament of the parents.

According to him, Llody would have waited till his parents regained freedom before organising such an elaborate event.

“If I were to be Ekeremmadu’s son, I would not have staged this elaborate wedding ceremony with my father and mother in prison. I would have done a low-key marriage ceremony and waited till my parents are free. This generation scares me stiff,” he wrote.
