Makinde, after administering the oath of office and allegiance to the new appointees at the Executive chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat Ibadan on Wednesday, July 26 expressed confidence in their selection and capacity to bring their wealth of professional experiences to bear on governance.

The governor while disclosing that it was the first time the state recorded a state cabinet well represented from all 14 federal constituencies in the state also tasked the new cabinet members to see their appointments as a call to service urging them to shun personal interests for the common good of the state.

While highlighting some of the key achievements of his first term administration and the support of his then state executive council towards the actualization of his accelerated development agender under Omititun 1.0, Makinde urged his returning and new Commissioners to redouble their efforts saying there was more work ahead to be done.

Tinubu receives Benin president in Aso Villa President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday received at the presidential villa, the president of Benin republic, Patrice Talon. Talon is in Abuja for a second time in nine days; he was last there on July 18 with two other co-presidents, Mohamed Bazoum of Niger and Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau. Talon arrived at the Villa at 4:43 p.m. The assembly was called in response to rumours that Bazoum was being held by unhappy soldiers of the special Presidential Guard, who afterwards received a "ultimatum" from the army, claims a source close to the president of the West African nation. The Economic Community of West African States of which Tinubu is Chairman, has now condemned the "attempted coup" and urged the "plotters" to promptly and unconditionally free Bazoum.
