Obaseki to launch emergency communication centre in Edo

As part of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commitment to guarantee the security of the lives and properties of the Edo State residents, the Government has expressed its plans to launch Emergency Communication Centres across the state.

The Hon. Commissioner of Public Security and Safety, Kingsley Uwagbale made this known while speaking in his office, during a press briefing on the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Communication Commission, Abuja, and the Edo State Government, toward setting up of a modern means of handling the emergency in the safety and security architecture of the state.

 

According to Hon. Uwagbale who represented Governor Obaseki at the Commission, the event was an important part of the present administration’s vision, to make Edo the most liveable and proper place in 2050, noting that security of the lives and property of Edo citizens the utmost concern of the Obaseki’s administration.

 

The Commissioner further explained that the security architecture was designed to serve every state of the federation, noting that other states have been advised to emulate Edo State.

 

However, among the dignitaries who present at the MOU signing ceremony include: Dithe rector, Special Duties, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, who represented the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission and delegation of Edo State Government.

“Edo State government has disclosed plans to set up Emergency communication centres across the state as part of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration’s resolve to ensure the security of lives and properties of every Edo citizen.

 

“This was disclosed by the Hon Commissioner of Public Security and Safety, Hon Kingsley Uwagbale in his office during a press briefing on the recent signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Communication Commission, Abuja and the Edo State Government toward setting up of a modern means of handling the emergency in the safety and security architecture of the state.

 

“Hon. Uwagbale who represented Governor Obaseki at the Commission disclosed that the event was pertinent as part of the vision of the present administration to ensure Edo is the best place to live and prosper in the year 2050.

 

“The Commissioner noted that the security of lives and property of Every Edo citizen is of utmost priority to the present administration

 

“The MOU signing ceremony had in attendance a representative of the Director Special Duties, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde who represented the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission and delegation of Edo State Government.

 

“Hon. Uwagbale said that the security architecture was designed to serve every state in the country as other States have been admonished to emulate Edo state.

 

“It would be recalled that Governor Godwin Obaseki set up the Ministry of Public Security and Safety as part of his administration’s commitment to ensuring security, stability and long-term economic growth in the state.

 

“This is in a bid to make Edo State the most peaceful investment-friendly State in the Country,” Obaseki tweeted.
