The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has presented a supplementary appropriation bill of N71 billion to the state House of Assembly for legislative approval.
The supplementary appropriation bill, which was sent on Tuesday, was read by the Deputy Speaker, Ochor Ochor, who chaired the plenary.
According to a report by The PUNCH, the bill had the sum of N5.6 billion for recurrent expenditure, and N65.5 billion for capital expenditure for the 2023 fiscal year.
Okowa, in the letter sent to the legislators, said there has been actual and projected increase in some fiscal receipts.
He described the bill vital for appropriation to fund ongoing projects, pay for some important government plans and activities. He, therefore, urged that the bill should be given immediate necessary approval.
