Omokri who criticized the administration for spending such a humongous amount of money on the refineries that are not still working, said that is the same amount that was used to build the just commissioned Dangote’s world’s largest single-train refinery.

According to Omokri who advised the government to focus on regulation while all the refineries are sold away, it has shown over the years that the government is a terrible business manager.

He however stated that former President Olusegun Obasanjo must have foreseen this before selling them off, 16 years ago, noting that the bogus amount spent on the project could have been used to fund free education in Nigeria, claiming that it is one-quarter of Ghana’s entire GDP wasted.

“Under General Buhari, Nigeria spent $19 billion on our refineries, and still, they did not work. This is one-quarter of Ghana’s entire GDP wasted.

“That money could have paid for free education from nursery school to university for 5 million Nigerian children.

“That is the same amount Dangote used to build the world’s largest single-train refinery.

“President Obasanjo foresaw this sixteen years ago, which is why he sold the refineries. But President Yar’adua reversed the sale.

“We should not spend another dime on those refineries. They should be sold. Our government must focus on regulation and remove its hand from business because, over the years, it has shown that it is a terrible business manager.

“#TableShaker,” he wrote.
