However, in a statement by Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, on Thursday, some representatives of Osinbajo’s support groups picked up the expression of interest and nomination forms which cost N100 million on behalf of the vice president.

“A passionate team of support groups and individual Nigerians from across the country have raised funds to support the purchase of APC nomination forms for the Vice President’s 2023 presidential bid.

“Today, the forms are being collected by representatives of the team, just as the VP continues his interactions with APC stakeholders across the States. Today, VP Osinbajo is in Cross River and Bayelsa States,” Akande said.

Also joining the race is the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Nigeria, Pastor Tunde Bakare.

Bakare obtained the N100 million presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the All Progressives Congress headquarters in Abuja.

According to a statement released on Thursday, Bakare would officially declare his presidential ambition on Monday, May 9, 2022.

He will hold a declaration ceremony at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District in Abuja.

WuzupNigeria reports that Osinbajo and Bakare will be competing with the likes of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Transportation Minister – Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Rochas Okorocha, ex-Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, and the Minister of Labour Chris Ngige, in the primaries.

Others include Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, amongst others.
