Premium Politics reported that Obi will be contesting to succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.) against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, who are the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, respectively.

This publication reported that Tinubu emerged as APC’s candidate by polling a massive 1271 votes to defeat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Obi emerged LP’s candidate after recently decamping from the opposition PDP where he lost the primary to Atiku who won the party’s ticket.
