Senator was reported to have escaped as he was riding in a bullet-proof SUV, however, he lost four of his security aides.

His media assistant, Mr. Kameh Ogbonna was reported to have said that the Senator narrowly escaped the assassination attempt because of his bullet-proof SUV.

Also, as gathered by the PUNCH, it was revealed that top politicians have started applying for exclusive police protection among other security packages.

Attesting to the rise in the purchase of armoured vehicles, the President, Armor Max, Mr. Mark Burton revealed that his firm has been getting requests from clients.

He also revealed that his company which has been importing bullet-proof vehicles into the country over the last two decades had very good sales in the month of March.

“Obviously, with the political season and the unrest (insecurity), there is obviously a high demand. We have been working with government officials, diplomats, senators, and businesses. There are a lot of things that go into armouring (vehicles).

“It depends on the needs. Sometimes, it is for political purposes, other times, it is for church groups that just need transport for their pastors to and from church and their home,’’ he stated.
