The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has allegedly fixed Wednesday, September 6, 2023, as the day to deliver judgment on the election petition filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, against Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

According to Channels Television on Monday, September 4, 2023, the date has been fixed by the PEPT, to deliver judgment on the suits, challenging the victory, and eligibility, as the academic records of the now President Tinubu, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the February 25, Presidential election.

The Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Bangari, while confirming this on Monday, assured that proceedings will be opened to live broadcast by interested media stations.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Tinubu, as the winner of the election, having gotten the highest vote count in the election.

Meanwhile, the petitioners who were not satisfied with the process and the conduct of the election, alleged that there were widespread irregularities and malpractices in the election, which they said affected the outcome of the vote, hence the suits to challenge the outcome of the poll.

However, the tribunal is expected to issue its judgment on the said date, in the suits, seeking Tinubu’s disqualification, and annulment of the election, among other things.
