Sowore revealed this afternoon, while reacting to the outcome of the just concluded 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

The election that was keenly contested by the contestants that participated in it, was held on the 25th of February, 2023.

However, a lot of controversies and reactions have trailed the conduct of the election and the results collation process, which was done at the international conference center Abuja, which serves as the INEC’s national collation center.

Some Nigerians, including the former president Olusegun Obasanjo, believe that the electoral umpire breached the electoral Act law, by not transmitting the results of the election from the polling units across the country and by so doing, the results have been compromised by the commission.

The INEC on the other hand, explained that its inability to transmit results directly from the polling units to the commission’s server, was due to a technical issue, facing the commission at the time of the election.

Meanwhile, the concerned citizens, demanded for stoppage of the collation process, cancellation of the election and organising a new election in the country, while some political parties also demanded that the Chairman of the commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu should outrightly resign his position.

The commission therefore, noted that a section of the electoral Act states that the activities of the INEC can be challenged in the tribunal, and thereby continued with the election results collation process.

However, the collation exercise ended early this morning and the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerged the winner of the election, with a total score of 8,794,726, and was announced as the President-Elect, at exactly 4:10am, this morning.

While reacting to the development through his Twitter handle this morning, Sowore wrote, “A rigged election cannot declare a winner just as it can’t produce loser(s) #RevolutionNow.”
