The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has appealed to the Federal Government for an unconditional release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor made the plea in Awka, the state capital of Anambra, during the campaign kick-off of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

It was a mammoth crowd of supporters and party faithful that turned up for the event on Saturday.

He specifically begged that Kanu be released to him with a promise to make him available to the authorities anytime he’s required.

Soludo argued that Kanu’s freedom was tied to finding solutions to insecurity in the South-East region of the country.

He said, “I am making a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally. If he cannot be released unconditionally, I want him released to me and I will stand surety for him.”
