Former Special Adviser to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, has opined that the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Other Related Matters would reduce trafficking more if strengthened.
Adesina said this on the sideline of a book launch, ‘We Are Priceless’, written by Mrs Juliana Francis in Ikeja on Thursday.
He noted that NAPTIP had been doing well to stem the ugly tide, saying that strengthening the agency would drastically reduce the menace.
He urged the government to strengthen the agency with the view to curtailing the menace of human trafficking in the country, according to Independent.
He said, “The government must strengthen NAPTIP and make them more effective because they are already doing well. I can tell you that it may be difficult to completely eradicate trafficking but it can be reduced drastically, especially if an agency like NAPTIP is strengthened.”
