The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal filed by a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Amaechi, against the probe of his tenure as Rivers State Governor.

Amaechi had tendered an appeal after Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, set up a seven-man panel to probe his eight-year tenure as Governor.

However, the apex court, according to The Nation, held that Amaechi’s appeal was without merit and awarded N1million cost against him.

The panel was to probe some transactions estimated at about N96billion carried out by Rivers State Government under Amaechi.
