Recall that, the committee was inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu in August, consisting of 38 membered bodies to ensure diversity of in-depth knowledge, robust expertise, and broad representation by key stakeholder groups across the geopolitical zones.

Following their inauguration, the team of financial experts visited Shettima in Abuja to officially begin work in earnest.

The chairman of the committee, Taiwo Oyedele, revealed this in a statement issued on Friday.

He wrote, “We paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima to kick off our engagements.

“We are humbled by the trust and high level of confidence expressed in our committee to help shape the fiscal direction for Nigeria. We are also encouraged by the unalloyed support by Mr. Vice President.

“We will leverage on the platform of the National Economic Council chaired by the VP to engage with key policymakers especially the State Governors who by extension are also our principals.

“Together we will succeed!”
