The dead professor is a man that has navigated not only the academia but also the political environment of this country.
“He was a true supporter and believer of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And he served as a zonal coordinator in charge of the southwest. He led the very first Tinubu support group that was formed about two and half years ago. So, we missed him. We pray that the almighty Allah forgive all his sins.
“What this means to all Nigerians is that whoever served within Tinubu’s family will not be forgotten even after death. If Tinubu can remember what the late professor has done for him, it means Tinubu is everywhere and he has his people at heart. As a friend to the late Professor the family should know that they have not lost anything. We will do our best for the family. We were very close when the late professor was alive. Something that hurts me more is that I had a conversation two hours before his death.”
One of the wives of the deceased, who is also a professor, Bilikisu Aminu Shinkafi said: “we thank you very much for the visit and we are not taking this visit for granted. This visit shows that you people are with us in this time of grief.”
The first son of the late professor, Abdulbasir Shinkafi said: “All I can say is that my father was a nice man. I missed him. He was a great man. I will miss everything about him.”
