He replaces the outgone vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to become the new vice president of Nigeria.

BREAKING: Tinubu confirmed as Nigeria’s 16th president

President-elect Bola Tinubu has taken his oath of office to officially emerge the new president of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola at the Eagles Square, Abuja on Monday.

He takes over from the outgoing president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who is expected to return to Daura, Kastina after the handover

Tinubu emerged president after defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party among other contenders in the February 2023 presidential election.
