The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has told the members of the Senate that his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, would not be returning to the Senate House.
Tinubu made this statement on Wednesday, during his address, after he had been declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
An election which was heavily contested by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, amongst other counterparts.
Oluremi Tinubu has been a member of the senate since 2011, representing the Lagos Central Senatorial District.
Tinubu, however, has now declared that his wife will no longer be serving as senator upon his resumption of office because she would be his housewife and first lady.
He said, “To my lovely wife, Oluremi Tinubu, you the senators, don’t expect her back, she’s going to be my housewife and first lady. Enough, enough of lending, the other room…”
