The President-elect Bola Tinubu has left for Europe on Wednesday afternoon, two weeks after his return from a three-country trip that took him to London, Saudi Arabia, and Paris.

According to Vanguard, the visit is a part of his attempts to polish the transition plans and programs, as well as his policy options, with some of his top aides.

The travel was required so that Tinubu could do various responsibilities free from undue stress and interruptions according to a statement from the Office of the President-elect, signed by Tunde Rahman.

According to him, “during the visit, the President-elect will engage with investors and other key allies with the goal of marketing investment opportunities in the country and his administration’s readiness to enable a business-friendly climate through policies and regulations”.

He said that meetings have already been scheduled with representatives from the manufacturing, agricultural, tech, and energy sectors of the European business community.

“Through collaborations based on the creation of jobs and the development of skills, Asíwájú Tinubu intends to persuade them that Nigeria is prepared to conduct business under his leadership.

“Reviving the country is a key component of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, and the conference is a part of his efforts to restore Nigeria’s prominence in the global economic system and generate empowering opportunities for the country’s sizable youth population.

“The President-elect has previously stated that he would get started right away, and the visit shows that he intends to keep that promise as he has already started speaking with international players about the crucial issues of security and the economy.”

Asíwájú Tinubu met with the candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who had been introduced to him by the Joint Task Team of the House and had received the support of his party, the All Progressives Congress, before he left the country.

Rahman continued, “He is scheduled to return soon for preparations toward his official swearing in as the country’s 16th President on May 29, 2023.”
