According to The PUNCH, it was reported that the meeting began at a few minutes past 2 pm shortly after they arrived at the State House.

The meeting occurred in close proximity to Tinubu’s initial security conference with the Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.

While the agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed to the public, it is possible that it pertains to the upcoming inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on June 5th and the subsequent selection of a new Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

A minimum of six senators are vying for the position of President of the 10th Senate.
