The Senator representing Ondo South District, Jimoh Ibrahim, has said that poor Nigerians will benefit from President Bola Tinubu’s recent trip to Dubai.
Ibrahim stated this while commenting on the just concluded COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
He said that the trip would be most beneficial to common Nigerians.
Ibrahim said, “President Bola Tinubu signed many multimillion-dollar bilateral deals at the summit in Nigeria’s interest. How many people will ride on the first batch of 500 buses that are coming to Nigerian from Dubai that the president was able to generously assess? Are the elites going to ride on the buses? No, the common people will do. When other benefits come into the country who will benefit from them? The common people.
“Let us stop talking about primordial issues, or sentiment. Let us confront facts and governance. Any benefit analysis will tell you this.”
However, Ibrahim said that the number of the delegates the Tinubu government sponsored to attend the conference was too small.
He added, “Funding (over) 400 people to a conference like this is too small. You may want to host the conference sometimes in future.”
