Nigerians have taken to social media to condemn the president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, over his ‘money sharing statement’ on Wednesday.

Videos obtained by Premium Politics showed moment when the leader of the Red Chamber while speaking during a live plenary session stated that the clerk of the house has deposited an undisclosed amount of money for the lawmakers to enjoy their break.

“In order for us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clark of the National Assembly,” he stated.

After making the statement, he proceeded to retracting the statement after it appeared that his attention was called to the fact that the session was televised live.

His action has continued to draw various reactions from Nigerians, many of whom have knocked the senator for his statement.

A tweep, @VictorIsreal tweeted, “Godswill Akpabio is a disgrace. He didn’t realise he was on Live TV when he said that a token has been sent to the senators accounts for their holidays.

” Situation of the country doesn’t concern them. They just want to steal money. God punish anybody supporting this government.”

Another @Kingsley Ekanem, tweeted, “Godswill Akpabio is so corrupt that he doesn’t even hide it anymore although he’s representing my senatorial district.Man thrive in impunity”.

Another tweep identified as @ChiefIkukooma, tweeted,”Senator Godswill Akpabio will possibly be the worst senate President Nigeria has ever had.

“Look at Godswill simply telling the senator’s money has been sent to the account of senators to enable them enjoy there holidays.. Meanwhile the poor people are used as collateral damage”.

While another tweep, identified as @AnonymousNG, tweeted, “After sharing 70Billion among themselves, these criminals masquerading has senators headed by Godswill Akpabio still paid themselves.

“Money for holiday” from the federation account while the whole country is suffering.The audacity of these men is staggering”.
