Ebony State Governor, Dave Umahi, boasted of possessing excess grace from God as he won his senatorial seat and enthroned a successor.

Umahi made the statement on Monday night during a thanksgiving session organised for the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Chief Francis Nwifuru, in the March 18 governorship poll.

He said that despite attempts to thwart his senatorial ambition, he still made it and enthroned a successor as well.

He thanked God who has seen him through on his pursuit and APC for its contributions.

“We are three governors in the southeast for instance who sought to enthrone successors but only one (me) succeeded.

“Only two governors were elected into the senate and despite all apprehensions, the APC performed marvellously in the southeast zone,” Umahi added.

He described his successor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, as his son, adding that he “will be there for him.”

“When Nwifuru was nominated, I prayed to God that I don’t want my enemy to succeed me but him (Nwifuru).”

“I urge the governor-elect to enshrine a reward system to appreciate all those who worked assiduously to ensure his success,” Umahi added.
