The founder of THISDAY and Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena on Saturday mocked the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike at the burial of his mother in Delta State.

Obaigbena mocked Wike when he hosted some guests who attended the funeral of Margaret Obaigbena, his mother, on Saturday, in Owa-Oyibu, Delta.

A viral video showed Obaigbena singing praises of Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto, whom he described as the country’s “future president”, the THISDAY chairman said “Wike lule”.

At the party on Saturday, Shina Peters, the Afrojuju singer, gave the microphone to Obaigbena midway into his performance.

“Chairman of PDP governors forum, Tambuwal! Presidential candidate, Tambuwal! Wike ‘lule’, Tambuwal! Wike ‘lule’, Tambuwal! Wike ‘lule’, Tambuwal! Future president, Tambuwal!,” Obaigbena joked

“Lule” is a Yoruba word which means “fell flat”.

Wike lost the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party to Atiku Abubakar in May.

Wike had claimed Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State betrayed him during the PDP, primary election.

Tambuwal had withdrawn from the presidential race and supported former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Tambuwal’s action is widely believed to have led to Atiku clinching the party’s presidential ticket.

The Waziri of Adamawa polled 371 votes to defeat Wike who had 237 votes and Saraki with 70.
