Some soldiers assaulted some voters at a polling unit during the supplementary election in Sokoto State on Saturday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier disclosed that the April 15 National Assembly Supplementary election will be held in the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

A statement issued by the INEC Spokesman in the state, Dr. Shamsudden Sidi, stated that the election will hold at 522 polling units for the three Senatorial districts and 466 polling units for the 10 out of 11 Federal Constituencies’ supplementary elections.

Sidi said the breakdown of the 522 polling units in the Senatorial district supplementary elections stand at 169 polling units for the Sokoto East, 185 polling units for Sokoto North and 168 polling units for Sokoto South respectively.
