The Spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign council, Senator Dino Melaye, has given reasons why the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), should not handover power to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023.

In a video posted by Melaye on his Facebook page on Monday evening which was obtained by Premium Politics, he stated that Tinubu is “a drug baron”, who must not be allowed to lead the country.

While calling on Buhari not to handover to Tinubu, he stated that the president has an history which indicates that he doesn’t not tolerate drug baron, hence the need for the president not to handover to Tinubu.

“My name is Dino Melaye,I salute you in the course of our history. I am here to tell you that Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot be our president and I also want to call on the judiciary that they can’t create a president for the federal republic of Nigeria.

“A president can only be created by democratic due process through electioneering process. Never will we allow the Judiciary create a president for Nigeria.

“A certified drug baron cannot be the president of Nigeria and I am using this opportunity to call president Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who in 1985, his government actually sentenced three people to death, and they were indeed murdered, three drug baron arrested under his regime and they were executed by that government.

“So a man who executed drug baron under his watch in 1985, will now on May 29 handover power to a drug baron. It is time for Buhari to think, it is time for the Judicial to think,” he stated.
