The Special Adviser to the Zamfara State governor, Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu Shinkafi, has denied the rumor going around that his principal, Bello Matawalle congratulated the governor-elect, Dauda Lawal-Dare, over his victory at the last governorship election in the state.

According to him, reports in some media that the governor congratulated the governor-elect, are not true, because the process of the election that produce him, was compromised.

Shinkafi stated that his principal didn’t congratulate the governor-elect, he only appealed to his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and hopeful, while promising that the party will not disappoint them, and will stop at nothing until the mandate is reclaimed.

However, the governor’s aide told newsmen, while speaking in Kaduna on Wednesday, that the governor has vowed to reclaim his “stolen mandate” at the election petition tribunal.

Shinkafi argued that the election and declaration of Dauda were more of a “broad daylight robbery that is being challenged at the tribunal with verified facts.”

He stated that “There is no way the good people of Zamfara will vote against the principal, given his outstanding performance in the state, noting that no stone will be left unturned, in reclaiming the stolen mandate, of the governor.

“We are already at the tribunal to challenge the declaration of Dauda Lawal of PDP as governor-elect of Zamfara State. We will not accept it because it is not true that he won the election.”

It would be recalled that Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party, defeated the incumbent governor, Matawalle, who contested for re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the March 18 governorship election, in the state.

Consequently, the governor has rejected the result of the election and refused to congratulate the governor-elect, noting that the election was a fraud, and vowed to reclaim his presumed stolen mandate, at the tribunal.
